Laurie Carr Mims has tried a variety of civil and criminal cases, including several as first chair. Her practice focuses on complex business litigation, including white collar criminal, securities and professional liability defense. Her clients have included Electronic Arts, Inc., Gap Inc., large San Francisco law firms, and executives of Fortune 500 companies. In 2008, Laurie was part of a team that obtained a defense verdict following a six-week jury trial for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and one of its retired partners. She has also represented a number of clients in options-backdating investigations and prosecutions.

Laurie graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1999, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. While at Harvard Law School, Laurie served as co-chair of the Tenant Advocacy Project, primary editor for the Women's Law Journal, and president of the Scales of Justice, Harvard Law School's a capella group.

Laurie joined Keker & Van Nest in 2005 and became a partner in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Laurie clerked for the Hon. Bruce W. Kauffman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and was a litigation associate at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C. She is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia and California.

Laurie lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband and two sons.
