Prior to joining Keker and Van Nest in 2007, Daniel Nazer was a fellow at the drug law reform project of the American Civil Liberties Union. He previously served as a law clerk to United States District Judge William K. Sessions, III of the District of Vermont and to Justice Susan Kenny of the Federal Court of Australia.

Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at the University of Western Australia where he graduated with first class honours and won the Sir Harold Bailey Award for most outstanding graduate in the Faculty of Arts. He then studied philosophy of mind at Rutgers University and received a Master of Arts in 2001. Daniel graduated from Yale Law School in 2004 where he was active in the prison legal services clinic.

Daniel is a member of the California and New York bar associations. He is the author of "The Tragicomedy of the Surfers' Commons," 9 Deakin L.R. 655 (2004) and "Conflict and Solidarity: The Legacy of Evans v. Jeff D.", 17 Geo. J. of Legal Ethics 499 (2004).
