Prior to joining Keker & Van Nest in 2008, Sharif Jacob clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Sharif received his Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of Law, where he graduated first in his class and served as the executive production editor of the Hastings Law Journal. While in law school, he externed for the Honorable Charles R. Breyer and the Honorable Joseph C. Spero, both of the Northern District of California. Sharif graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. At Yale, he researched the cognitive deficits underlying schizophrenia.

He is the co-author of "U.S. Supreme Court Decisions on Criminal Law and Related Topics, October 2005-2006 Term," in The State of Criminal Justice 2006 (Victor Streib ed., 2007) and "Deficits in Language Mediated Operations in Patients with Schizophrenia," 53(3) Schizophrenia Research 171 (2002).

Sharif is admitted to practice in California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Districts of Northern California and Central California.
